Leto says the album will be "stronger, better and more evolved." Also at Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1, he told that the album will be "a complete transformation for us." and added: "I really think that this could be the best thing that we've ever done."
This new album has been recorded across the world, with sessions taking place in Asia, Europe and America.
Earlier this week, they also revealed that they will be playing at the Download Festival next summer. Another band that will also perform in that festival is Queen of The Stone Age, Alice in Chains and Motorhead.
Last year it was rumored that the members would be splitting up and Leto admitted to Lowe that the band too were uncertain for their future.
He said: "People started to ask us about our new album. We had been on the road for almost 2 and a half years and I didn't know... I had no idea what the future held. I don't think any of us knew."
Meanwhile, Leto also has signed up to a new drama movie about AIDS, this is his first role after 3 years. He has joined the cast of of The Dallas Buyer's Club alongside Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Garner.
The film is based on a true event, the life of Rod Woodroof, a Texas electrician diagnosed with AIDS who began smuggling alternative drugs into America to help himself and another suffering. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Leto will appear as a "flamboyant cross-dresser with HIV who helps Rod Woodroof".
