The clear musical differences between the legendary rockers and clean-cut boyband, Jagger told CNN that seeing their success had made him remember his early days with the Stones.
"I watched the concert of One Direction on TV the other night, just to check it out," he said. "It reminded me very much of our early concerts, when we were pushed around among the audience and we would kind of float. They were like floating above the audience, and they looked really distinctly uncomfortable.
"I remember feeling that same uncomfortable feeling of being pushed around in this very weird place about 50 years ago," he added. "It was a very funny moment, because it similar to the things we've been through."
The Rolling Stones are set to play two shows at London's O2 Arena later this month (November 25,29). They will also perform at the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn, NY on December 8 and the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on December 13 and 15.
